For all our Crafties fans, we have created an exclusive recipe that is as unique as our Crafties - but read for yourself!

Crafties crust for roast pork

Ingredients:

  • Roast pork (approx. 1.5 kg)
  • salt, pepper
  • Mustard or honey mustard
  • Crafties BBQ
  • Rosemary, thyme or other herbs of your choice

Preparation:

Prepare Crafties BBQ:

Place the chips in a freezer bag and crush them into fine crumbs using a rolling pin or meat tenderizer.

Seasoning pork roast:
Season the roast with salt, pepper, and herbs. Brush with mustard or honey mustard—this also serves as a "glue" for the crust.

Apply Crafties crust:

Press the crushed Crafties BBQ evenly onto the roast to create a thick, crispy layer.

Cooking roast:
Cook the roast in the oven as usual. Temperature and cooking time depend on the size of the roast – e.g., 160°C fan-assisted oven for approximately 1.5–2 hours. It's best to use a meat thermometer (core temperature approximately 75–80°C).

Finish the crispy crust:
Finally, place on the grill or top heat for 5-10 minutes to make the Crafties crust really crispy.
